Zero waste conference

The organizing committee had originally planned a number of measures to raise awareness on the environmental impact of in-person conferences, and to limit that impact. For instance, conference "goodies" had been carefully selected and reduced, and you would have been invited to compute your net carbon emissions and given the possibility to offset them with a 1 euro contribution to an association, Canopée. This would have allowed us to plant a tree on the university campus at Lille.

The Conference is now a virtual event, but videoconferences also entail carbon emissions, and we've selected the following links and studies if you wish to look them up, here and there.
